Keyboards
Intro
During the summer of 2020, I stumbled upon the mechanical keyboard hobby. I had heard about it before, but wrote it off as a waste of money. Who’d spend 150 bucks on some plastic keycaps?
I guess having an engineering income changes you - I’d end up spending a few thousand in total on all my keyboard purchases.
From the very beginning, the keyboard I had my eyes on was the Satisfaction75. It was and still is the most aesthetically pleasing keyboard available. The problem was that you could only get one for like $1600 on mechmarket. But then a Round 2 was announced for November 2020 with delivery a year later. A much more reasonable $500 (yes, I know it’s still crazy). In the meantime, I got started with a black ID80, Aliaz 60g switches, and BoW keycaps. From there, I bided my time for the Satisfaction75 R2 groupbuy. The hype was insane, so I enlisted a friend to help with the raffle, and somehow we both won, so I became a proud owner of two future Satisfaction75s. Now, in March of 2022, I’ve received and built both, and I can happily say I’ve reached my endgame. Other than a few elusive artisans for the side keys, I’m done.
